Agatha Brandão de Oliveira is a Brazilian and Portuguese qualified lawyer. Her practice focuses on private international law, international arbitration, and complex commercial transactions.
Agatha is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Lucerne. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Federal University of Espírito Santo and a Master in Economic Law degree from Sciences Po Law School, where she graduated with Honours.
In 2019, Agatha moved to Switzerland to work as a Senior Researcher for a large project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). She is the co-editor of four textbooks on private international law and has vast experience with editorial projects.
Agatha is the former Director of Studies at the Swiss Arbitration Academy (2019-2020). She acted as an arbitrator at the 29th Vis Moot (2022), the X Rio Pre-Moot (2022), the Swiss Day (2022), the SCAI Pre-Moot (2021), Regional Sudeste CAMARB (2021), and the Competição Brasileira de Arbitragem da CAMARB (2012, 2015, 2017).
Prior to joining the University of Lucerne, Agatha worked for a North American consulting boutique providing transfer pricing advice to U.S. tax authorities and multinational companies.
Agatha advises clients in Portuguese, English, and French. She is also conversant in Spanish and German.
